My Story

I was born in Argentina and came to New Zealand almost 10 years ago to live with my partner, Tom in the beautiful region of Marborough. Soon after my arrival, I joined Marlborough Community Potters and there is where my passionate journey with clay started. My favorite method of building is Coiling which I have been perfecting all these years. My love for texture, expression and color has taken me to experiment with glazes and building techniques to achieve beautiful and unique pieces. Beside Pottery, I developed a passion for quick figurative sketches and expressive colorful paintings after joining the life drawing sessions at Marlborough Art Society in 2015. A contemporary potter and artist based in kapiti Coast, My pottery and other works reflect my South American background. Inspired by the human figure, my choices of color and composition result in vibrant and colorful sketches, drawings, paintings and prints. I often combines charcoal, indian ink and acrylics together and use a variety of non- traditional materials such as sticks and knives to produce interesting effects. I mould human figures from pottery and finishes these with various glazes and techniques. I decorate my colorful pots and vases with human figures for added interest. I have exhibited and sold my art work in the Marlborough, Nelson and Wellington areas. I have won several awards for my pottery in Marlborough including the Elizabeth Lissaman award in 2018. Now one of my pieces can be found at the Marlborough museum. I was also awarded the Tom and Nola Hurford Memorial prize at Pieter Doig Competition in 2018 for one of my paintings and received a  special mention for my drawings Marlborough Art Society Figurative Exhibition 2017.
After moving to Kapiti Coast  almost two years ago and now a mum of two beautiful little girls, Ana and Lilly, I have been inspired by motherhood, the beautiful landscape ,people of the area and life in general, as a result, large indoor and outdoor figurative paintings has been created. I am currently working on a series of paintings and ceramic sculptures inspired by the life in Raumati.
